Trouble Ticket: 50146
Description:
We started experiencing major packet loss and connectivity issues on our Gig-E
circuit to Cogent (one of our upstream providers). Initially the problem appeared
to be possibly a Denial of Service attack however we have identified the problem
to be an ongoing backbone issue at Cogent's network.
Cogent is currently experiencing backbone routing problems at Chicago that is
affecting core routers in Boston at the same time.
Due to continuous instability on their network, we have temporarily disabled our
Cogent connection completely in order to stabilize our network.
At this time, customers should see their traffic return to normal. If you are
still experiencing problems, please contact us and we'll look into it right away.
We will restore our connection with Cogent once their NOC verifies that their
backbone is back in functional order.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to some of our customers.
