AFFECTED CUSTOMERS:
On Saturday October 24th beginning at 7:00 AM EDT, Markley Group, the building operator
for 1 Summer Street, in coordination with Gilbane Building Company, will be performing
electrical power maintenance to upgrade incoming power service.
All customers are affected by this maintenance work. Outages and interruptions to service
are not anticipated but risk is still present, please see detailed maintenance details
below.
INTRODUCTION:
During the scheduled maintenance timeframe above, a newly built utility entry vault (where
main utility power connections are brought into the facility) will be turned up and
activated, in addition to the existing vault.
This new utility vault was constructed to substantially increase power density/capacity and
redundancy in 1 Summer Street.
The work procedure will involve de-energizing each entry bus risers to balance the loads
between the two utility vaults. While high voltage bus risers are de-energized, preventive
maintenance will also be performed before re-energizing the risers. The procedure will
take total of 12 hours and will start at 07:30 AM.
OUTAGE AND IMPACT MITIGATION PLAN:
During the 12 hour procedure to work on the utility entry bus risers, all electrical loads
will be transferred to backup generators, so we do not anticipate any power outages to
customer equipments. However, due to the work being conducted on high-voltage electrical
distribution systems, operation is dangerous and risk of outage is present.
During the procedure, all required disciplines will be on-site at 1 Summer Street to quickly
address any problems or issues that may arise while the work is under way. Personnel from
the Markley Group, Gilbane Building Company, Vanderweil Engineers and licensed electrical
contractors will be present on-site to perform and oversee the work.
TowardEX technicians will be on-site and our operations personnel will be available on-call
throughout the maintenance period. We will be continuously monitoring the situation and
will be available to assist if there are any problems during the work procedure.
